Do you love God?
Do you know loving God goes beyond you, spitting out the words and singing it in songs?
Last Sunday, I got to church late and felt terrible up until the service was over. During the service, what kept on ringing in my mind was? Do you love God?
Let me now ask you this Question….
Do you really love God? Have you ever asked yourself how much you love God? Apostle Paul said I am convinced nothing can separate me from the Love of God? How do you react to things not going the way you want?
How do you react to sin when it comes smiling at you? When you love God, you will never embrace the desire to offend Him.
Apostle Paul said in the book of Romans 8: 31-37, “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake, we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
What is your reaction to the things of God? How many lives have you reached out to today? The love of God makes you put Jonah’s garment and save the dying souls in Nineveh! The love of God in you would make you love your neighbor the way you love yourself. The love of God would make you help the needy without expecting anything in return.
I felt so bad getting late to church yesterday, YES! But honestly, loving God goes beyond that. It’s you, sacrificing everything to please God! It is you sacrificing your whole self to do the will of God.
There’s no doubt about it that when you love God, you will not fornicate; there is no doubt that when you love God, you will not commit adultery. You will love your wife or husband with your whole heart.
It takes God nothing to bless us, but it takes everything from us to love God. Apostle Paul killed his flesh, and that was why he was able to love God with his whole heart.
In verse 38 &39 of Romans 8, Apostle Paul said, “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Just as I said above, it goes beyond you saying it or singing it in the church. If Apostle Paul can boldly say he is convinced nothing can stop him from loving God, then we should be able to say that nothing will stop us from loving God. I pray God helps us to love Him endlessly in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen
